What Does Drain Do in Battle Cats?

Drain pushes back the recharge progress of a Cat unit that is hit by an enemy with the ability. It does not describe damage dealt or HP restored. Read the enemy's chance and progress percentage separately to see how much a hit can delay your next deployment.

Read chance and progress separately

The current Sage of Selection Darvin record lists Drain with a 100% chance and a 50% reduction of recharge progress. The chance is whether the effect occurs on a qualifying hit; the second number describes how far the affected Cat's current recharge progress is rewound.

“Progress” means the portion of the Cat's recharge already completed. A50% Drain removes that percentage of the completed progress, not 50 percentage points from the full cooldown and not 50 seconds.

A 60-second cooldown example

Suppose a Cat takes 60 seconds to recharge and is hit after40 seconds of that recharge have elapsed. Before the hit, it has 20 seconds left. At 50% Drain, its completed progress becomes 40 × (1 − 50%) = 20 seconds. It now has 40 seconds left—20seconds more than before the hit.

This is a calculation example, not a measurement of a specific Cat or stage. A later qualifying hit can change the progress again; the current enemy record gives the chance and percentage, not a fixed number of extra seconds for every Cat.

Check the enemy you actually face

  1. Open the enemy's record and find Drain in its Abilities row.
  2. Read both the activation chance and progress reduction for that enemy.
  3. Use the stage section to confirm the enemy appears in the encounter you mean.

Start with Sage of Selection Darvin's stage list, or use the enemy database to look up another enemy. Drain changes deployment timing; the enemy-stats guide explains the separate HP, damage and magnification numbers.

Sources and limits

Chance and percentage come from the release-stamped enemy data described in our methodology. The effect on recharge progress is described by the community-maintained Battle Cats Wiki Drain reference. This page explains the recorded mechanic and arithmetic; it does not recommend a particular Cat lineup or claim to model every in-battle interaction.
